As more people look to live sustainable lifestyles, LED rope lights, strip lights and bulbs are growing in popularity. Lighting manufacturers are also taking note of these changes and making an effort to cater to the demands of environmentally-friendly Americans.
Recently, the Elemental LED company announced that it will be helping individuals in the San Francisco Bay area move forward with their efforts to live off of the grid. On the Green Road is a project that was started by Cece Reinhardt and Brenda Daugherty in 2003. Elemental LED outfitted an Airstream for the On the Green Road project, which is expected to be used to travel across the country and showcase the benefits of a sustainable lifestyle.
"The LEDs hardly budge the battery charge at all," Reinhardt says. "The most common comment we get from visitors is how strong the amount of light is and how soft and natural the quality is. People seem to think that LEDs are aggressive and not attractive, but that couldn't be further from the truth. People are excited to learn about CFL and incandescent lighting alternatives."
LED rope lights, strip lights and bulbs are ideal for a number of reasons. In addition to having a longer lifespan than incandescent lights, these fixtures can help reduce carbon footprints over time.
