Phoenix Children’s Hospital installs LED lighting

The Phoenix Children's Hospital is partnering with luminaire producer Hubbell Lighting to bring energy efficient LED lighting to the hospital's full-scale renovation project. LEDs will be used in many areas of the 770,000 square foot facility to help replace the aging and inefficient fluorescent fixtures, according to AZOOptics.com.

The hospital will use four of Hubbell's 22 lighting brands in the project to revamp the establishment's lighting grid. Some of the upgrades will include recessed downlighting fixtures, LED exit signs and LED outdoor garage lighting.

The lighting for the facility was designed by Dallas-based Scott Oldner Lighting, and many of the new LED fixtures are being used on the exterior of the building as well. With the new lighting in place, residents can now see the hospital from up to 25 miles away in all directions.

While large-scale facilities and businesses are reaping the benefits of LED lighting, homeowners can do the same throughout the house. LED rigid light bars are perfect for cramped areas that are in need of an upgrade. They provide warm light and can be attached to any surface with the aid of mounting brackets or their attached 3M adhesive strips.
