Our rope lights are not UL
listed... Starting November of 2003 standard rope lights are no longer UL listed if
the end user cuts them. This does not mean that they are unsafe. UL simply
changed some guidelines that affect flexible lighting sold in the US. The
single biggest factor of the new standard is that rope lights are no longer
field cuttable. Many distributors will claim that they offer UL listed rope
lights, but if you read the fine print you will notice that the listing is
void once you cut the lights. Don't be fooled by these misleading claims. If
you are going to cut your rope light they are not UL approved.
