Jazz up your restaurant with LED lights

Keeping a restaurant in business is hard work! Not only do you have to stay on top of your expenses, you also have to serve a delicious product in a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more. Luckily, LED lighting can help you keep costs in check while simultaneously improving your restaurant's decor.

Inside, LED rope lights make a unique, romantic decoration that sheds a cool, natural glow over each and every table. Dimmable LED lights are perfect for restaurants, since they can be lowered during dinner service for a more romantic atmosphere and brightened during the day to keep breakfast and lunch patrons happy.

LED rope lights are also perfect for the outdoors. If you have al fresco seating on a porch or patio, try wrapping LED rope lights around the fence for a whimsical twinkle. You can also hang rope lights from the walls or string them along the ground to help illuminate any outdoor dining space.

LED lights are perfect for a backyard wedding

LED lights are perfect for a backyard wedding

These days, many brides-to-be are eschewing the big fancy ballroom and opting to get married in the quaint, quiet space of their own parents' backyards. A family backyard can be the perfect spot to exchange intimate "I do"s in front of all your closest friends. If you'd like to transform a yard into a romantic dream wedding, consider using LED rope lights.

LED rope lights can be strung from bushes and wrapped around tree limbs to provide a dreamy twinkle that's sure to make any summer night glow. The cool, bright light of LEDs is reminiscent of fireflies, which makes it perfect for a hot June, July or August evening. LEDs can even light fall and winter weddings with their soft yet clear illumination.

With tons of colors to choose from, you can select the option that best complements your wedding decor. Classic white in both warm and cool tones is great for sophisticated affairs, while a more laid-back fete might like the unique sass of a blue, red or green glow.

With the rope lighting all taken care of, you can focus on the other details of your big day – like linens, catering and of course the dress.

Boston’s Zakim Bridge may soon get LED upgrade

Boston’s Zakim Bridge may soon get LED upgrade

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge is the focal point of hundreds of Boston's most beautiful postcards and posters, but its regal blue and white lighting is starting to fade. Luckily, it may soon be getting an upgrade to brighter, long-lasting LEDs.

"It was a good system several years back, but now there is a better technology," Miguel Rosales, the bridge's architect, told the Boston Globe.

Rosales has reached out to the city to suggest the installation of LED lights, which can be programmed remotely to glow with all different kinds of colors to suit holidays, sports teams and other events.

LEDs are perfect for bright, durable decoration at home, too. They're strong enough to stand up to all kinds of weather, which means they can be used both indoors and out to light parties, dinners and get-togethers, as well as quiet evenings with a book or movie.

Try stringing LED rope lights around your house for a gorgeous glow that'll stay bright for years to come.

And LEDs aren't just good for your bottom line – they're good for the environment, too. Unlike other lights, they don't release toxins when they're eventually discarded, and they use far less power than other lighting options.

Diamond Bar uses LEDs to light up street signs

Diamond Bar uses LEDs to light up street signs

The city of Diamond Bar, California, is now using LEDs to illuminate street signs at four busy intersections throughout the town, says the Diamond Bar Patch.

A total of 16 signs are now lit by LEDs, marking the first time that street signs have been illuminated by light-emitting diodes. Previously, the city had been replacing streetlights with LEDs whenever the old incandescent lights burned out. Since LEDs can last for more than a decade without needing replacement and are durable enough to withstand all kinds of weather, they're the perfect option for outdoor spaces and hard-to-reach nooks and crannies.

You can use LED lights in all the outdoor spaces in your home, too. Backyards are more beautiful when illuminated with twinkling LED rope lights strung throughout the trees and bushes. In the front yard, LED rope lights can brighten the path to your doorway or decorate your garden.

LED rope lights can last years, and while they're beautiful in the summer, they're even better in wintertime – when they make excellent holiday decorations.
