Installing Half Inch Incandescent Rope Light:
A detailed installation guide for Incandescent rope light can be downloaded and viewed here. The guide will help you define cutting intervals, connect your rope light to a power supply, use female-to-female connection, and use an inline splice.
NOTE:
  • We strongly recommend the use of a surge protector with our rope lights.
  • All connections must be sealed with a waterproof sealant or silicone and weatherproof heat tape kit when installing rope lights outdoors.
  • To avoid damaging your lighting and the possible fire risk, completely unspool lights before connecting to power.
  • Prior to cutting or modifying your lights, we recommend testing the light output and color for your project. Failure to test before altering a product may result in the inability to return or exchange your purchase.

as I told you before that I would like the cutting intervals on your rope lights to go back to the 18 inch intervals rather than what you have now which are 36 inch intervals.

Advantages: a lot of waste

Disadvantages: more waste and when making my lighting projects they look unsightly with all that extra rope light blacked out but still visible in the day time.
